RTL Electric was established in 1983, founded by brothers Robert (Bob) and Thomas (Tom) Lawall. RTL is derived by the 1st letter from 3 names: Robert, Thomas, Lawall. Both Robert and Thomas Lawall were actively engaged in the day to day management of the company for over 30 years. Under their leadership the company grew from a small two person operation to a mid-sized electrical contractor. Unfortunately, Tom Lawall passed away in August 2018. Tom was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in August 2017, but worked diligently up until a few weeks before his passing. Bob Lawall semi retired in 2014. This allows Bob to be involved with the company, but also allows him to work a reduced schedule. Bob's son, Robert Lawall Jr (Rob), is the one that currently leads RTL Electric on a day to day basis. Rob has been working full time since 1991, and has been the Vice President of both Estimating and Project Management teams since 2000.

RTL Electric has a talented and experience work staff. Many of the roughly 100 employees have been with the company for 10 years or more. RTL's philosophy of "taking care of those who take care of you" is evident by how long their employees work there. This same philosophy can also be attributed to the long standing relationships they've had with their customers. While RTL is always interested in new potential employees and customers, they recognize that "taking care of those who take care of you" is what has got them to be a successful company. RTL Electric is a financially sound company, and will continue to be for years to come.

RTL performs work exclusively in the commercial electrical marketplace with projects primarily focused on new construction, tenant fit-outs and alterations of office buildings, warehouses, hospitals, schools, industrial, manufacturing and retail businesses. Projects range in size from $50,000.00 to $4,000,000. The company is licensed and insured throughout the Metro area.
